If you have LOST
your pet register the loss with us - we will keep our eyes open to assist
you. (Under separate cover you may also email a photo in JPG or GIF form
to us at ShelterDogRsq@kozmail.com
But YOU MUST also do the
following:
1. Visit the Shelters
- if you do not know the shelters in your area - visit our shelter page.
YOU MUST visit the shelters every 36 hours minimum due to the length of time
and owner is given to find a lost pet in Clark County
2. Register your lost pet
with the shelters - provide as much information as necessary - even a color
flyer to post on the wall.
3. Place a LOST advertisement
in the Las Vegas Review Journal incase your dog is being taken care of and
not in the shelter. Place the ad for 1 month, then cancel when your dog is
found. Most people watch for the owner to place the LOST ad and not place
a found ad (for the safety of the animal)
4. Place lost fliers at
the pets stores in your area and in your neighborhood and grocery stores.
5. Do not give up - it may
take 30 or more days for your pet to be picked up or dropped off at a shelter.
The more you show interest at a shelter the more they know people really care
about their pets.
Please be aware that
dogs without identification, microchip, or Rabies tag in Clark County only
receive 72 hours for the animal's owner to locate them. Then the dog is placed
up for public adoption, and unfortunately after that they are in most cases
euthanized. SO PLEASE look for your pet as though it was a child - it needs
your help.
